Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Last Monday, August 15th, pupils from Junior 3 and 4 participated in a workshop organized by Fundación Pepsico about Ecology. Through games and quizzes they learned the importance of taking care of our environment by changing their daily habits or doing little things at home.

Training on Augmented Reality

Last Tuesday, August 9th, teachers were trained on Augmented Reality for educational purposes. They learned to use apps such as Quiver, Layar and Buildar.

Book Fair

During the second week of August, from the 8th to the 12th, the Brainy Learning team from Scholastic is visiting our school. Children are invited to participate and write their "wish lists" with the titles of the books they want to read.
This book fair is specially dedicated to kinder 5, Junior 1, 2 and 3. Under the slogan "Open a world of possible", it promotes the use of English through different contexts, motivating children and helping them to enlarge their understanding of the world.

The Immersion trip is getting closer!

The Junior 6 students had a visit from one of the immersion camp counsellors, Josh, who told them everything they needed to know and shared all the juicy details of the experience. They all played a game together afterwards.

An English class in the Computer Lab

Students from 6th form went to the Computer Lab and sent a real e-mail as if they were the main character of the novel "There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom" to their Headmaster. Afterwards, "the Headmaster" answered back, in reply to the first e-mail. A different and meaningful approach that engaged the students a lot! 

Shrek - The musical

Last Thursday, June 16th the students from third, fourth and fifth grade enjoyed a special outing to the theatre.

The Stage Company presented a wonderful adaptation of Dreamworks most famous Broadway show. Winner of 14 nominations for its phenomenally succesful run at Maipo Theatre in Calle Corrientes during 2015. Awarded with 6 Hugo Awards including BEST MUSICAL, BEST PRODUCTION, BEST ACTOR, BEST NEW ACTOR, BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR, the unique Hugo de Oro Award for Lord Farquaad.

Field trips to live theater enhance literary knowledge, tolerance, and empathy among students. Students who attend live performances of a play are known to score higher and are better able to recognize and appreciate what other people think and feel.

Cooking is fun

As part of a project about recipes in English, the students of 4C prepared groupal oral presentations.

Through pictures and videos, they showed the rest of the class, how they had prepared different meals. They also brought their delicious dishes to make everybody taste their food.

We all had fun and enjoyed it very much!!
